I like the idea and the rustic look of a permanent edge. I decided to try a tree ring before splurging for the rest of the lawn. So far I like the look, despite my imperfect installation. It works as advertised. You simply hammer it in and it'll cut through and break through whatever it on its way. For me, I have a ton of rocks in the ground from all the fill dirt they used for the base of my house.

Christopher tested our Tree Ring Kit - 2.5 foot diameter, 14 inch height, 16 gauge - before edging the rest of his lawn. He likes the rustic cor-ten look, and installation was straightforward since the ring hammered through his rock-filled soil as advertised. The result is a neat mulch border and clean separation around his tree.
